Recycling & Waste Reduction

Approximately 72 percent of the waste currently being landfilled or incinerated consists of materials that could be put to higher and better use through recycling or composting. Most of this material is office paper, cardboard, non-recyclable paper, and food waste. (5)

1. Recycle what you can. Please reference sites listed under "Community Resources" for local free recycling locations. This includes your amazon packaging. 
2. Reduce -buy in bulk vs buying smaller volumes which typically contain more packaging.
3. Bring your own bags to stores.
4. Consider refillable water bottles vs single use bottles.
5. Reuse - Don't throw unwanted clothes or toys away and look to donate to local organizations like goodwill/salvation army/or local church. You can even schedule a Facebook marketplace porch pick up for unwanted items. 
6. Consider starting a compost bin for food scraps and yard debris.
